Chapter 7 – Listening And Spoken Language Strategies
EXAMPLE:
Child: “baby”
Therapist: “yes! You have a baby!” The baby is hungry. Lets feed the baby” Child: “more”
Therapist: “oh you want it AGAIN?” “Should we do that AGAIN?”
Explanation:
This strategy is great for giving them more exposure to language and its also great for expanding their vocabulary to include new words for words they are already using such as “more”. When they are using “more” you can begin to introduce words that also mean the same thing like “again” and “another”.
