EXAMPLE:
"You found the blue ball"
"You see the purple grapes, yum yum yum!"
"OH! You heard that! You heard the telephone!"
Explanation:
When you use this strategy, you are making sense of the sounds and the world around the child. They are still learning what sound is, where it comes from, what it means and that we use words to represent objects. You are basically walking them through their experiences out loud for them! This exposure to language, especially when it is directly related to their first hand experiences, gives them the awareness that they need to begin to make sense of their world.
